“A meditator needs to be surrounded by other meditators”
Welcome to Osho UK. We run Osho meditations, currently online. Our project is an invitation to everyone in the UK who is inspired by Osho and his vision to meditate together. In particular, it is a very warm invitation to you to meditate with us.
We are starting initially online, in simple no-commitment ways that are easy to join in.
The Osho Resort in Pune and European Osho centres such as Osho Miasto in Italy and Osho RISK in Denmark are today filled with both with old-time meditators and very many new people enthusiastic about Osho’s work. We want to capture that dynamism here in the UK.
The number one purpose is that we support each other in our meditation.
A meditator needs no personal guidance. A meditator, on the contrary, needs only one thing: the atmosphere of meditation. He needs other meditators; he needs to be surrounded by other meditators. … just to sit silently with these people, and you will be pulled more and more towards your own intrinsic potentiality.
Osho: The Invitation
That certainly includes doing Kundalini, No-mind and other active meditations online. There’s a magic something in communing in a shared intention as you shake together, dance together, sit together. Our vision is that these online meditations will be a step towards meditating together in person. Yet the connection in meditation even online is already powerful. Everyone wants to do things with friends, and we hope you may wish to also.
In practical aspects we want this to be simple and easy for all of us. We are going to start with one drop-in evening a month on Zoom. For now at least that will be free of charge.
That is just to start. Beyond that we hope that as we get to know each other and a sense of community develops, we will find ways to meditate together in person. That could be for an evening, a day, a weekend retreat, or in some other format. A community of us meditating together – a sangha – is so very valuable.
